San Francisco has become the first U.S. city to ban the use of facial recognition technology by police or other city agencies. The ban won’t include the use of the technology by federal agencies like the TSA, business owners, private citizens or companies like Apple that use it in the iPhone. WIRED

We need this technology to warn us when someone we don’t want to talk to is approaching.
