Alabama lawmakers have passed a near-total ban on abortion in the state that makes no exceptions for rape or incest and criminalizes the procedure for doctors. If the Republican governor signs the legislation, Alabama will have the most restrictive abortion ban in the country. Gov. Kay Ivey hasn’t publicly said whether she’ll sign the bill.
